Current Vacancies:

Our hostel in Bath has 200 beds which are normally used for school groups, sporting teams and backpackers. We also accommodate referrals from different agencies in Bath and surrounding areas, which stay at the YMCA for several weeks before going onto more permanent accommodation.

We are looking for a duty manager to work on our reception and join our friendly team.

If you are:

• Able to set a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the hostel.
• Deal with complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
• Have the ability to manage own workload and prioritize tasks.
• Be cheerful, flexible, friendly and creative “can do” attitude.
• Good at working as part of a team and also the ability to work to own initiative.
• Have good people skills, both in terms of colleagues, but also customers and residents.
• Be resilient and able to deal with a high pressure environment.
• Feel confident working on you own at times.

And able to ensure cleanliness is to its high standard across the hostel, especially with the guidelines set by the Government for current hostels.

Working hours:

16-20 hours per week on a rolling rota, working days shifts (7.45 am – 15.00), afternoon shifts (14.45 – 22.00) and nights (22.00 – 8.00 am). Additional shifts available to cover sickness and holidays.

What does the job involve?

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Room Leader to manage the Toddler room (2-3 years old) at our YMCA Redland nursery, along with supervising the room staff team. You should be able to motivate and inspire staff to provide excellent child care in a safe, nurturing and stimulating way that encourages individual development within the room.

Applicants must hold a level 3 in childcare qualification and ideally have experience of supervising a staff team.

We require an enthusiastic and energetic Early Years Practitioner to work at our YMCA Green Shoots in Trowbridge.

A qualification in childcare is essential: Level 3 or above.

This post will be with the youngest children and the person may also work at times with the older group.

To ensure that our youth club in Shepton Mallet is a space where; young people can safely meet, have fun, learn life skills and how to influence change and make a difference in their communities.  A space where young people are heard and their opinions are valued, therefore giving them a sense of belonging and ownership.

We require a dynamic, enthusiastic person to run our Out of School Service in the Oldfield Park area of Bath including breakfast clubs, afterschool and holiday clubs.

The successful person will organise the deliver the Ofsted framework, organise staff teams, plan programmes of activities and liaise with parents and schools on site.

This special person will have had experience of working with primary aged children and be qualified in childcare or as a teaching assistant.

They must have had relevant experience of working with children and a love of every day being different.  Our clubs are popular with children and parents and we value this work.
