Adult Services 25+ Years

We provide Supported Accommodation to adults aged 25+ at risk of homelessness in East & South Somerset.

If you think you are at risk of losing your home, or you are homeless, or rough sleeping, please seek immediate help by contacting Somerset Council here.

We currently have two adult services houses in Wells and Shepton Mallet, with 17 bed spaces for adults aged 25+.

This accommodation offers a home and support needed to help a person get back on their feet and access opportunities for building a better future and securing a tenancy.

Rent Deposit Scheme

We offer a deposit scheme which ‘guarantees’ against damage or theft caused by a tenant; and is equivalent to one month’s rent.  This is available for the first year of the tenancy. Applicants should be in receipt of benefits or be on a very low income and have a local connection the Mendip Area.

Tenant Accreditation Scheme (TAS)

An adaptable 6-10 week programme delivered through a modular workbook, which is available to anyone homeless, or at risk of losing their home. This help is offered in order to assist a person to develop the skills and knowledge required to improve their chances of securing and maintaining a tenancy.

Private Rented Sector Scheme (in the previous Mendip Council area)

This scheme provides a practical support service with a primary focus on prevention of homelessness to single homeless people, or couples without dependants; enabling them to access and maintain secure private rented secure housing. We also work closely with landlords to provide continual advice and support.

Landlord Scheme (in previous Mendip Council area)

Landlords can register with YMCA Brunel Group and are encouraged to be sympathetic with our client needs. We offer continual support and advice to all landlords registered with us.

If you are concerned about someone that you think is sleeping rough, you can report them to Streetlink by clicking here.
