The Bristol Wing Opens

Bluegrass Trio, Swine Vultures, play at the Bristol Wing opening

After months and months of hard work, The Bristol Wing is officially OPEN.

On Friday, the 24th of February, The Bristol Wing opened its doors to staff and supporters to celebrate all of the hard work Dave (Bristol Wing Manager) and his excellent team have put in to prepare the hostel for opening on the 1st of March (today!!).

We offered a huge spread of nibbles and drinks for guests, had a few show arounds of the building, and chatted with friends and local supporters.

Before the party we had a busy, all-hands-on-deck day in order to finish up some last-minute jobs and get the place ready for curious visitors. From cleaning bathrooms, installing new TV’s, to hanging a feature wall of mirrors – everyone worked tirelessly until the last minute, just in time to don our fancy clothes and mingle!

Our friends from Visit West, Sawday’s, Creative Youth Network and more came along to congratulate us, along with trustees and a few staff.

We had a Bath-based bluegrass ensemble livening up the night with lovely tunes and good vibes. It was truly rewarding to see the space occupied and enjoyed after so much hard work.

Did you know we run two commercial hostels? These hostels help contribute to our central costs. That way we can carry on with our charitable work building strong communities.
