New housing project in Glastonbury for 16 – 17 year olds

YMCA Brunel are delighted to be opening a new project for 16- and 17-year-old looked after children in Glastonbury in early Spring 2022.
Park Terrace is a spacious Victorian end of terrace town house occupying a prime position within walking distance of the historic town centre and only a couple of miles away from Strode College and Clarke’s village. It will accommodate 5 young people and also benefits from having an emergency assessment bed.
It will be managed by Jane Copestake, who opened and developed Street Foyer and she will be supported by Caroline Hamilton, who was previously Senior Support Worker at Street Foyer. They both have extensive experience of working with young people in a trauma-informed way and of providing services within a psychologically informed environment. They have lots of plans to provide person-centred support in a homely environment to build confidence and enable residents to start developing independent living skills and successfully transition into adulthood.

This new project gives us an opportunity to expand on our successes at Hillside House and creatively provide a higher level of person-centred support for the 16- and 17-year-olds who will make 1 Park Terrace their home.
