Narnia themed yoga retreat

Every year for the last 7 years (other than the Covid year) two of our yoga teachers, Trish and Sarah run a Narnia themed yoga retreat at Barley Wood – a beautiful home and wedding venue owned by YMCA Dulverton Group in Wrington.

The stunning location sets the scene but so does the beautifully planned classes, food and treats. Attendees pay £75 for a ticket and bring a contribution to a pot luck lunch – which never fails to be anything other than fabulous banquet. The YMCA provide all the extras including cake in the afternoon made by the wonderful Jacqui based at our Timsbury site.

This year the goody bag was delightful and included a lion head Aslan coaster and snowflake Christmas tree decoration – specially designed and made for the event by Fenrir’s Den Studio. Also this year we were completely blown away by the generosity of the Lululemon Bath store who gave everyone a special goody bag with an accessory in it, plus a gifted ‘fit’ session which includes a personal shopping experience and one item from their latest collection as a gift!

Lululemon have been big supporters of our YMCA charitable work with young people at risk, and knowing that this event helps us raise money for that work – they decided to say thank you in their way – which has gone down so well with all our Narnians!
