It is national bird day today and we are fortunate to be in the city centre and yet have a fantastic view from our nursery windows.
The view outside is always a great talking point and today the children spotted flocks of birds in the sky, this led to us looking up birds in our bird books and we decided that we wanted to learn more about owls at first, so we looked at their patterns, eyes and made some puppets.
We then decided that we could find out about caring for birds and made some bird feeders for our garden, but first we had to write a shopping list of the supplies we needed and then go to the shops to get them. We hope the birds will enjoy eating our bird food. We are so lucky to have all of this right on our nursery door step.
