Castle Combe Circuit Fundraiser

Each year, the Castle Combe Circuit comes alive with the roar of engines and the thrill of high-speed racing, all for a good cause.

This annual fundraising event is organized by Doug Watson, a local businessman and proud Ferrari owner with a passion for both cars and community. Watson has made it his mission to bring together car enthusiasts and philanthropists alike, offering an opportunity to race their own vehicles on the track for a good cause. The day is full of energy and excitement, and all proceeds go towards supporting the YMCA Brunel Group.

The event is a celebration of speed, community spirit, and generosity. Drivers and enthusiasts gather at Castle Combe to test their skills and experience the thrill of the circuit. The atmosphere is electric, with the sound of engines roaring, the smell of burning rubber, and the sight of sleek cars tearing up the track.

This year, young people and staff from YMCA Bath were given a special invitation to join the event. Among those who attended were four residents from the Platform for Life program, accompanied by support workers Sam and Emma, and our Fundraising and Events Manager, Emma. The day was a memorable one, especially for our young residents, who had the chance to step out of their comfort zones and experience real speed!

The highlight for many was undoubtedly the opportunity to ride in Doug Watson’s Ferrari, which easily proved to be one of the fastest on the track. The smiles on the faces of our young people throughout the day were priceless. For them, the day wasn’t just about fast cars; it was an experience that fostered confidence, camaraderie, and a sense of adventure.

A huge thanks to the generosity of Doug Watson and all the participants. The funds raised will go a long way in supporting young people at YMCA Brunel Group.
