A Farewell to our Bath Nursery

We are extremely saddened to announce that our lovely YMCA Bath nursery closed it’s doors for the last time at the end of July.

After 22 years looking after children in the heart of the city of Bath, we made the difficult decision to close due to the very low numbers of children. The nursery was championed by fantastic staff, notably Rosie, who was with us for the duration and Katie and Grace. They were the most dedicated and inspirational practitioners and their commitment to the children was second to none. Their work has made a positive and lifelong difference to so many children’s and family’s lives. In particular, the support and encouragement they provided to children with Special Educational Needs, EAL families and chaotic families in crisis has been consistently outstanding and we are so thankful to them for all they have done.” – Julia Honeywell, Director of Children’s Services

It was a really sad day when Rosie and I agreed together that our nursery in Bath had run its course and would need to close during the summer holidays.

This has been a wonderful YMCA project and the work that Diane, and latterly Rosie lead over 22 years is something I’m immensely proud of.

Our own twin daughters attended the setting and absolutely loved it – they are both 20 now, my how time flies!

As Julia has mentioned, the nursery was recognised by the local authority and parents alike as the being very best in the area for supporting children with additional needs – a credit to the YMCA.

Massive thanks to Rosie and her team and to everyone who has supported the setting over so many years. – Mike Fairbeard. CEO.
