YMCA Humpty Dumpty Nursery is a bright modern nursery with a beautiful enclosed garden. We regularly use the nearby woods for our Forest School visits. We are registered to take 36 children aged 3months – 5 years and have a specially converted main building with a separate studio in the garden. Set in the grounds of Kingsbury Green Academy (formerly John Bentley School) and next to the Calne Leisure Centre, YMCA Humpty Dumpty Nursery benefits from use of the school’s sport, arts and learning facilities. Children enjoy outdoor walks in the school grounds and in the local countryside.
We love outdoor play at YMCA Humpty Dumpty Nursery and our children are out in the fresh air come rain or shine – they just love it! The enclosed garden has a beautiful tree at its heart which not only provides us with natural protection from the elements, but makes for a wonderful picnic spot and we love to get all of the children together and lunch in the garden whenever the weather permits. Elsewhere in the garden we have playhouses, a vegetable patch, a swing, climbing frame, a sand pit and painting wall and much, much more – it is a wonderful place for small children to get active and have lots and lots of fun!

We pride ourselves on offering a home-from-home experience that makes children feel comfortable and safe. We deliver a gentle and natural approach to teaching and learning, with a blend of different approaches, to support the needs of each individual child.
We are conveniently located on the edge of the developing town of Calne, in a bungalow on the site of John Bentley Secondary School and close to the Calne Leisure Centre. With ample parking and access to the school and leisure centre facilities, we are never short of space. The nursery overlooks the beautiful Cherhill White Horse and Downs and borders with the Bowood Estate.
Throughout the nursery we encourage exploration, as we believe this to be the strongest form of learning. Whether this is experimenting with the loose parts, exploring our large outdoor environment or discovering our natural and authentic resources, we cater for all interests! We are passionate about children and ensuring that every child has the greatest opportunities and the best outcomes for their future. Which is why we are dedicated to supporting every child of any ability, with a devoted Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) on site to provide additional advice and expertise where needed.
