The Role

As a Detached Youth Worker, you will work as part of a small team of youth workers and engage young people on their own territory. You will identify and engage young people aged 10 -19 within the community. You will find out where they are, find out their needs and provide essential youth work support. ​You will use a detached of youth work model to carry out this work.  ​

The purpose of this work is to find out the needs of young people as they experience them and attempt to deal with whatever the young people present.

You may have experience as or in

Outreach Worker, Support Staff, Support Worker, Challenging Behaviour, Voluntary Sector, Social Work, Social Care Worker, Teaching, Teaching Assistant, Community Services, Community Development, Youth Work, Youth Worker, Detached Youth Worker and Youth Provision


Level 2/3 in Youth work or equivalent

The post holder will

  • be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS


Located in Yeovil


4 hours per week in the afternoon/ evening, all year round.

  • £10.50 per hour
