The Role

You will be someone who can lead a team of youth workers to co-produce a provision that is youth-led, evidence-informed and delivers high-quality outcomes so that young people can live their best life and thrive.

What you can expect in this role?

As a Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for leading and managing your team. You will work as an active member of that team to develop a youth club where children and young people’s voices are heard, where they have fun, learn, grow and are empowered. To achieve these outcomes, you will work closely with young people and your team to create, implement and effective plans and programs for the open access youth Club. You will monitor and evaluate the work to ensure high quality outcomes

You and your team will enable a range of services and provision that are accessible for all young people in a youth club setting.  You will lead and co-produce with young people and your youth work team a relevant, informal, welcoming environment for the 10-19 age group. You will lead an open access youth work session that is specifically designed to bring together a range of information, advice, guidance, learning and social opportunities for young people in the locality.

The role will offer you opportunities to display talent and passion for working with young people. Also, to use your creativity, talents, people management skills and knowledge to run a successful youth work provision for young people. It will also provide you with development opportunities to grow.

What do you need?

  • A passion and drive for your people to thrive and achieve in life.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, emotional intelligence and creativity.
  • A priority for Safeguarding, so that young people are safe.

You may have experience as or in:

Outreach Worker, Support Staff, Support Worker, Challenging Behaviour, Voluntary Sector, Social Work, Social Care Worker, Teaching, uniformed groups, sports groups, Teaching Assistant, Community Services, Community Development, Youth Work, Youth Worker, Detached Youth Worker and Youth Provision

Qualification: Level 3 in Youth work or equivalent. Relevant experience will also be considered

The post holder will

  • be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS

12 hours per week, all year long on Mondays and Fridays

  • £12.75 per hour
