What is the YMCA Sleep Easy?
The aim is simple: Sleep rough so others don’t have to.
Under normal circumstances a YMCA Sleep Easy is about challenging yourself, your family, friends or work colleagues to sleep rough for one night!
In 2020 over 60 people slept out under the stars at the foot of Wells Cathedral!!
In 2021 however, although the premise is the same, the challenge has altered slightly, to take into consideration the current Covid situation.
Sleep Easy this year is going virtual; and as long as you, as a participant, do not sleep in a bed; and adhere to current restrictions, we want you to use some imagination, involve the people in your household and challenge yourselves to sleep somewhere different! In the Bath? Maybe the garden? What about the kitchen floor, or in the garage? Why not build your own shelter with a cardboard box?
It would be great to see all the family get involved this year and even little ones – create a cardboard den and get them to decorate it. Why not make it the most unusual sleepover you’ll have this year!
Please help us raise awareness and money to help change the lives of vulnerable people. All the money raised goes directly to our YMCA Brunel Group projects; impacting our local community and helping disadvantaged young people build a future.
There’s no registration fee this year; just get involved and donate or raise a minimum of £10 to take part.
Last year, a young person was made homeless every hour in England; and hundreds of people spent at least one night on the streets.
For every rough sleeper in our community, there are dozens more who are sleeping on a friend’s sofa, in a car, or are on the move night after night.
Sign up to Sleep Easy today and help YMCA Brunel Group support more people find a safe place to stay and access the support and resources they need to rebuild their lives.
One night really can make a lifetime of difference.
Deadline: To take part, please submit your registration form via email@example.com by 5:00pm on Friday 19th March
