Whilst the UK is in the 3rd Lockdown through the Coronavirus Pandemic, We are continuing to accommodate residents new and old in a Safe Haven. Our Key Worker Staff are a real asset to the YMCA and are working tirelessly to keep the residents and staff safe and well.
YMCA Bath is deeply concerned in these unprecedented times of how much the Covid – 19 will impact on our lives.
We would love to maintain all of our key services, however some adjustments have had to be made again:
We may remain open for the specific reasons set out in law, including where guests are unable to return to their main residence, use that guest accommodation as their main residence, need accommodation while moving house, are self-isolating as required by law, or would otherwise be made homeless as a result of the accommodation closing as well as for the following:
You‘re unable to return to your main residence
Need accommodation while moving house
Need accommodation to attend a funeral or related commemorative event
You require accommodation for work purposes or to provide voluntary services
You are homeless, seeking asylum, a vulnerable person seeking refuge, or if escaping harm (including domestic abuse)
If you are a Keyworker, NHS or Health Worker
We have had to shut our doors to protect our Guests by requesting no visitors in the Building and by limiting the amount of people we have in close contact with each other.
Here are some practical things we are doing to ensure we keep everyone safe:
We are maintaining our usual high standard of cleaning around the hostel
We have put in place additional regular cleaning of areas that people touch a lot – including door handles, drinks machine, taps and flushes.
All of our staff are washing their hands when they arrive at work, and regularly throughout the day, as well as before and after eating, and after carrying out cleaning jobs (as well as wearing gloves whilst they are cleaning)
All staff have been instructed to follow government guidance if they exhibit any symptoms, and to self-isolate at home until test results are negative.
The YMCA Team have been amazing, both in their determination to keep services running and in their flexibility – filling rota gaps, finding creative solutions to problems and reassuring our Guests and Residents. Without their goodwill and ‘can do’ approach things would be immeasurably worse. Thanks for helping us out, and for supporting us!”
Please stay safe and when the time is right to re-open we will be back to welcome you.

We have a variety of rooms at different prices but at the Bristol Wing breakfast isn’t included, but local cafes are plentiful.
Such a Friendly Welcoming placeWe came to stay in Bath for a few days and stayed at the YMCA, we were greeted by friendly welcoming front desk staff. we were very lucky to be one of the first people to stay in the new en-suite rooms that they have. It was amazing, the bed had a really comfy sprung mattress, the view of bath skyline was an added bonus too. The shower in the en-suite was so powerful too. The free breakfast was incredible, such a huge selection of food to choose from! The only negative thing was that we couldn’t stay any longer!
